To make things simple and convenient for you, we’ll provide details about various options, including the daily shuttle bus from Hanoi to Pu Luong, and even the quickest way from Saigon.

From Hanoi:
Pu Luong Limousine bus:
With a growing demand from both local and international travelers to explore Pu Luong Nature Reserve, getting there has become quite convenient. Eco Travel shuttle bus operates a daily departure at 7am. You can anticipate reaching Pu Luong around 11:30am, with a break midway. The bus will drop you off at Dac Sang restaurant, close to the entrance of Don village, which is the heart of the tourist area. This spot is only a hundred meters away from Pu Luong Retreat and Pu Luong Home. Additionally, the shuttle bus can take you to other hotels along the route to Bang village. Such as Pu Luong Casa, Pu Luong Bocbandi Retreat, or Pu Luong Eco Garden, which is the final stop.
For the return journey from Pu Luong to Hanoi, the shuttle bus will begin picking up passengers from Pu Luong Eco Garden at 1:15pm, followed by stops at other hotels along the way. The departure from the meeting point, Dac Sang restaurant, is scheduled for 1:30pm. Expected arrival time in Hanoi is around 6pm, although the quality of city traffic can sometimes cause minor delays.
The bus offers a high level of comfort, featuring reclining leather seats, onboard Wi-Fi, and a complimentary bottle of water. This shuttle bus to Pu Luong follows the most beautiful road by Thung Khe pass and Mai Chau
If your hotel is situated within the heart of Don village, like Pu Luong Natura Bungalows or Pu Luong Tree House, you have the option to coordinate with your hotel for a pickup arrangement.
Private Transfer to Pu Luong:
This stands out as the most hassle-free method of travel. Offering the flexibility to be picked up at your preferred location in Hanoi, at a time that suits you best. You’re also in control of the route you take to reach Pu Luong. As highlighted in our Pu Luong Travel Guide, you have the option to arrive via Mai Chau, Son Ba Muoi, or Ho Chi Minh Road. The duration of the journey will span between 4 to 5 hours. Opting for a private car grants you enhanced autonomy, with a choice between a 4 or 7-seater car, or an 11 or 16-seater mini bus. In case of larger groups, bigger buses can be arranged upon request.

From Mai Chau:
If you start from Mai Chau, you can jump in our bus passing by 10.30am on the main road. One hour later, passing by a beautiful mountain road, you will arrive to the Reserve for the lunch time.
From Ninh Binh:
Due to the impact of COVID-19, the previous shuttle bus service to Pu Luong had to cease its operations. Presently, there are just two available routes connecting Ninh Binh to Pu Luong. The first involves taking a public bus to Mai Chau and then proceeding with a transfer from Mai Chau to Pu Luong. The bus journey from Ninh Binh to Mai Chau takes approximately 3 hours. Followed by an additional hour to reach Pu Luong. While this option may not be the most convenient, it is particularly suitable for budget-conscious travelers.
Opting for a private transfer to Pu Luong remains the superior choice. With the freedom to customize your schedule, select stops along the route, and designate pick-up and drop-off points, this option offers unparalleled convenience. From Saigon (and other Vietnamese cities):
For the majority of travelers, especially those coming from abroad, the typical route involves flying into Hanoi. Spending a night there, and then selecting one of the aforementioned methods to reach Pu Luong Nature Reserve. As previously mentioned, we are fully capable of organizing a private car to pick you up directly from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.
If your travel plan is focused on heading straight to Pu Luong, we suggest considering the second option and arriving at Thanh Hoa Airport. Another time-saving possibility is to fly directly to Thanh Hoa Airport. In this case, we can arrange for a taxi to be ready for your arrival. Ensuring a seamless private transfer to Pu Luong. The journey from Thanh Hoa typically takes around 3 hours, and the pricing is reasonable.

Saigon – Pu Luong tour:
From Saigon, some travelers decide to make their own way using the Hanoi to Pu Luong shuttle bus. There’s a diverse range of activities available for booking even after you arrive in the Reserve.
As mentioned earlier, you have two choices for flying from Saigon. Landing at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi or at Tho Xuan Airport in Thanh Hoa. For either option, you can select one of our special tours.
If you arrive in Hanoi, connecting with the Pu Luong shuttle bus on the same day isn’t feasible. You’ll need to spend a night in Hanoi. A great chance to soak up the lively ambiance of the Old Quarter and savor some delicious northern cuisine). The next day, you can join the Hanoi – Pu Luong tour as mentioned before.
