5 Days Pu Luong – Ninh Binh – Lan Ha Bay

At 7:00 AM, our eco-adventure begins as we pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter and set off toward Pu Luong Nature Reserve—a true hidden gem in northern Vietnam. After a scenic drive through lush countryside, you’ll arrive at your eco-lodge just in time for a delicious lunch and some time to relax amidst nature.

In the afternoon, embark on a guided trek to Kho Muong Village and the Bat Cave, one of Pu Luong’s most breathtaking and secluded spots. Walk through narrow trails alongside traditional Thai stilt houses, and marvel at panoramic views of infinity rice terraces cascading down the valley. As you descend from the hillside, the peaceful village of Kho Muong slowly unfolds—an authentic insight into local life.

Weather permitting, you’ll have the chance to explore Bat Cave, the largest cave in Pu Luong, with its raw limestone formations and mystical atmosphere.

Enjoy an early breakfast and get ready for another incredible day in Pu Luong Nature Reserve. You’ll board the car and head toward the starting point of your afternoon adventure.

The trek begins with a walk across a hanging bridge over the Cham River, leading you into Ba Village, a peaceful ethnic Thai community known for its centuries-old wooden stilt houses and serene countryside vibe. As you walk through the village, you’ll witness the genius of local farming: bamboo waterwheels, an iconic part of Thai minority culture in northern Vietnam. These impressive wheels, still functioning today, channel river water into rice fields—an eco-friendly irrigation system passed down through generations.

The highlight of your day will be a slow and calming bamboo boat ride along the Cham River. This is not just a scenic tour—these boats are still used by locals for daily transport and farming activities, offering you a truly authentic Vietnam experience.

In the late afternoon, bid farewell to Pu Luong and begin your scenic drive toward Ninh Binh, also known as Halong Bay on land. Upon arrival at your eco-lodge, unwind by the pool or soak in the peaceful view from your terrace, surrounded by towering limestone peaks and rice fields.

Welcome the new day with breakfast at the hotel. Then cycling to do Tam Coc boat trip.

Enjoying an amazing boat trip on a rowing boat traveling along the river with scenic mountain and green fields landscape. You will go through many water caves with spetacular stalagmites and stalagmiles and passing many ritual places.

It is a world apart and a unique destination in Vietnam. A relaxing and serene boat trip with the most amazingly beautiful views and rich in history with perfectly preserved architecture.

10: 00 – Continue the trip to Bich Dong Pagoda, a spritual complex tucked into the cliffs of the limestone mountain. Often called the “ Second Most Beautiful Cave in Vietnam’. This hidden gem is a peaceful blend of ancient pagoda architecture and lush natural surroundings. The pagoda consists of three levels: Ha, Trung and Thuong each offering tranquil views and glimpse into the spiritual life of the region.

11:30 – Back to the hotel for lunch.

14: 00 – In the afternoon, take the car to Mua Cave and start an amazing trek up to the top of Ngoa Long mountain for watching the spectacular rice valley with specious view of the nature.

End the day back at your lodge, surrounded by nature and calm.

Early morning, leave Ninh Binh and head to Halong Bay, then board your boat to begin the cruise through stunning Lan Ha Bay – the peaceful side of this world-famous destination.

Enjoy a relaxing lunch on deck as limestone karsts rise from emerald waters. In the afternoon, kayak or take a bamboo boat through the magical Dark & Light Caves, a hidden gem of the bay.

Back onboard, unwind with a cocktail, optional massage, and a delicious dinner while the boat anchors in a quiet spot for the night.

Start your morning with a Tai Chi session or enjoy the sunrise views from the top deck or gym. After a light breakfast, continue your peaceful Lan Ha Bay cruise, one of the most beautiful bays in northern Vietnam.

Enjoy some leisure kayaking time surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and emerald waters. Then check out and have brunch as the boat returns to the pier.

Around 11:30 AM – transfer back to Hanoi by bus, ending your memorable Pu Luong – Ninh Binh – Halong Bay eco journey.
